Our first speaker this semester is Jill Jones, who has been the pre-health professions adviser at Keck Science Department since 2010. A first generation college student, after graduating she worked four jobs while still living below the poverty level for three years. She attended Steinhardt School of Education at New York University for graduate school where she focused on access to higher education and investigated the role that divorce plays on student access to higher education. In 2005, she moved to California to explore diversity issues on the West Coast and worked at UC Irvine School of Medicine before joining us here in Claremont.
Want to get to know your faculty and staff better? Curious about how our life stories and our professional accomplishments interact with each other? You’re invited to lunch and discussion in a relaxed, comfortable environment with featured faculty and staff from across CMC. A different faculty or staff member will be featured at each lunch and will share with students the stories of their paths to working in higher education, what draws them to their fields, and their intellectual passions. You’ll get to know how their values and personal identities have shaped their paths.
It is limited seating, so please sign up early. Please sign up using the attached RSVP link.
