After the Fire: A Fire Safety Presentation with Shawn Simons and Alvaro Llanos

Shawn Simons & Alvaro Llanos share their story of survival after their freshmen residence hall was set on fire as a fraternity prank gone wrong on January 19, 2000, at Seton Hall University. Their story is one of perseverance, hope, inspiration, courage & friendship. Not only will you learn fire safety tips, but they aim to inspire & motivate their audience that life will give you many obstacles. It’s how you overcome those adversities by drawing strength, knowledge & motivation from those around you. With those tools in life’s endeavors, they prove that there is life “After the Fire.” The presentation includes a viewing of their powerful documentary, reading from their New York Times Best- Selling book & discussion with Q & A. This is NOT your average fire safety presentation!

Everyone (students, faculty and staff) is highly encouraged to attend this event.
