About this EventAdd to calendar
This workshop reviews the processes that researchers go through to prepare raw data for statistical modeling, including the consideration of missing values, discretization, outliers, and transformations. The workshop brings attention to data generation processes and the relationship between the sample and the population of interest.
The format is a “flipped” workshop, where students watch a pre-recorded video and then meet synchronously to do data activities with the instructor. The workshop uses the statistical software Stata, which is available through the GenApps Server. Experience with Stata is not required, but helpful.
